Kho Liang Ie was one of the most important influencers of the Artifort DNA. His vision, international contacts and extensive knowledge of design turned Artifort into a world-class design brand.
Liang Ie made his name with his design for Schiphol Airport in the 1960s and his influence continues to this day.
“Purity, warmth and freedom”
Liang Ie has developed several projects in collaboration with our partners at Artifort, including the F416 chair (above) and the C416, C683, C684, 070 sofas (below).
The minimalist frame of the F416 armchair and C416 sofa consists of a careful balance between brushed stainless steel and black coated metal elements, finished with slats made from Santos rosewood. The padded seat cushion of the 416 range provides maximum comfort.
The perfectly angled seat and backrest makes the C683, and its deep-buttoned version, the C684. ideal for use as a comfortable sofa on which to relax. The horizontal cushion strokes give the sofa a sleek appearance.
With its pleasant, slightly raised and no too deep seat, the 070 provides a graceful contrast to all the excessive, soft and low lounge sofas of today. Simply slim, clean lines, an elegant base and the single row of buttons as a finishing touch. There is such a thing as timeless design.
