Orgatec brought us lots of new exciting products this year! It also brought us a busy few days over in Cologne as six of our manufacturers were exhibiting. It was a wonderful trip, learning about the new products, catching up with our European colleagues and of course enjoying a Schnitzel and a beer.

Cascando introduced a great range of new coat stands, Kendo and Fuse (designed by Dutchman Peter van de Water) and Plus by Robert Bronwasser. Whether it is beautiful material, interesting colour combinations or pure functionality you are looking for, between them this eye catching trio can provide.

Another exciting addition to the Cascando family is the Pully barstool and table which is a beautiful continuation from the Pully pouf. The curves and organic shape of these pieces compliment each other perfectly.

Following the success of the Attach table by Troels Grum-Schwensen for Lammhults in 2016, Orgatec brought us the addition of a multifunctional work system so that Attach can be used as a work bench. It incorporates power and data and acoustic panels in a flexible system which sits on the table top.

The Archal family also has a new member, the Archal XL, for those projects that need super comfortable conference room chairs with serious badass vibes.

Contour is the newest creation from Carpet Sign. Mirroring the contour lines on a map the new rug design creates beautiful organic lines using the colour gradient we know and love from Cameleon.

And who says rugs have to be indoors? Symbiosis is the new outdoor rug range, with several colours and patterns, one of which is Leaf. All we need now is a big beautiful rooftop to put one on!

At Milan this year Artifort launched the new Andrea chair along with several other lovely pieces. Orgatec brought us the Andrea bar stool. The detail on this stool is stunning, the leg extends all the way up the back of the seat, creating an opportunity for some excellent colour combinations.

The Figura sofa was beautifully displayed on the stand, twisting and turning with lots of modules in a variety of colours, showing the amazing flexibility of the product.

Hussl extended their collection by introducing a new table called Lino T. The clever design of the four legs and a self supporting plate in the center means the table can be up to four meters in length without that annoying extra leg in the center of the table. This creates a visually light product, available in a beautiful set of finishes for any space.

Luceplan have a permanent stand in DesignPost, which they were displaying some of their lovely pieces. They have freshened up some of the classic pieces and release some new colours. The newest lamp to the collection, Lita, was dressed to impress, showing off all three versions of the Opal glass lamp.

We had an amazing few days in Cologne and came away enthused about all the new products – here’s to next time Orgatec!
