“It was my first time in at the Milan furniture fair this year. And everyone told me before I left that is it overwhelming huge and to be prepared! They weren’t exaggerating!

Harriet and I landed in Milan on Wednesday lunchtime and after dropping our bags at the (very) cosy Airbnb we headed into the city centre. Passing by the Duomo and catching a glimpse of the Galleria, we headed down to the Brera Design District to see some Lammhults products featuring in ‘Swedish Design Moves Milan 2018’ exhibition at Hemma. Continuing on to the Luceplan showroom where we met up with our Italian colleagues who showed us the beautiful new products which were launched at Light & Build 2018.

Later that night after a swift drink by the Duomo and an ice cream stop which turned into a pizza and ice cream stop, we headed to Bar Anne at Museo Diocesano to see the Carpet Sign rugs. We had a drink with our colleagues and saw the new design of rug which was designed by Richard Hutten and combines style with practicality for use out or inside.

Next stop – Saloni Del Mobile!! Thursday and Friday we spent at the fair dividing our time between the Lammhults and Artifort stands – which luckily were just around the corner from one another. To describe the Lammhults stand as colourful I feel is an understatement. There isn’t a single colour which wasn’t used! Some of our colleagues even dressed to match the stand! All the newest product were there to be tested out and quickly word spread that there was a few tables where you can charge your phone! The Artifort stand was beautiful, the super comfortable new Figura sofa is where I spent as much time as possible! The back wall of the stand was a platform with all the new products along it, which was a lovely touch. The soft pinks and oranges throughout the stand were beautiful and bang on trend.

On the, slightly hazy, Friday morning Harriet and I – the classy ladies that we are – ventured to the Galleria for breakfast. We had the most beautiful eggs I have ever laid eyes on. Pun intended. Then heading up to the fair we took some time to wander around some of the other stands. We stopped by USM who had a very impressive stand, reaching high into the hall the structure really showed off what the product can do! And just across the way was the Vitra stand where the Luceplan Amisol light was pride of place in the orange display!

All in all it was a very inspiring, if not slightly exhausting, trip! Even though we missed some lovely weather in London, I have the strap marks to prove the Italian sunshine was well and truly out!

See you next year!

Ciao Bella!”
