Pierre Paulin made a considerable impression at an international furniture show organised by Kho Liang le. Shortly afterwards he became a freelance designer for Artifort, marking the beginning of a long and fruitful collaboration.

Artifort still includes many of Paulin’s designs in its permanent collection and his work can be admired in museums throughout the world.

Paulin created many iconic designs in collaboration with our partners at Artifort, including:

Moulin: Conceived on the Rue Jean Moulin, the Moulin chair embodies the quiet elegance, refined craftsmanship, and timeless spirit of thoughtful design. Its versatile presence makes it perfectly suited to both the breakfast table and the work table.

Orange Slice: A true Artifort classic, the Orange Slice remains highly popular sixty-five years after its creation. Two identical elements, reminiscent of slices of an orange – one forming the seat and the other the back and armrests – are perched atop an elegant steel frame.

Ribbon: Ribbon is a fluid, continuous form that twists and turns like a ribbon, cradling the human body in a single, seamless gesture. This design icon is part of the permanent collections of museums worldwide.

Get in touch if you’d like more details on these designs, or any other product in the Artifort collection – we’re happy to help.
