We spent some quality time visiting both factories, learning more about manufacturing processes and seeing some of the beautiful furniture and rugs being created.
On the first day we visited Carpet Sign and were given the chance to make bespoke poms with Wim which was great fun, and we got to bring the poms home! We then had a lovely evening meal (followed by a few G&Ts) and spent a very enjoyable evening on a guided tour at GLOW – the world famous lighting festival in Eindhoven.
After a very comfortable hotel stay, we took a trip to the Artifort factory and the incredible archives building. Artifort really rolled out the red carpet for us – literally! There was even a hairdresser laid on for us to have a quick trim – well done to Elliot for volunteering!
‘I may be biased and think that Artifort products are incredibly beautiful as well as very comfortable, but they’re more than that! Our visit was a great opportunity to show some designers the factory. Artifort are so impressive because, unlike some of our competitors, they are a brand doing their own foaming, their own powder coating, their own upholstery etc. As opposed to being just an assembly line you can physically view all of the techniques that go into one statement product.’ Harriet Knight, Sales Director, Crest
It was fascinating to see how these iconic manufacturers work and a joy to share this experience with a great group of people – thank you to everyone who came along – we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
